PlayStation Network sign in error 80710016
If you end up seeing a 80710016 error when trying to sign in to PlayStation Network, then your IP has most likely been banned by Sony. After the 2011 PlayStation Network outage, Sony beefed up their security which banned any suspicious IPs trying to access PlayStation Network. Unfortunately this also affected a lot of legitimate IPs and there seems to be no way to get the IPs unblocked.
One reasons that legitimate IPs can get banned is due to simultaneous sign ins via the same IP to the PlayStation Network. For example, if one is connected to the PlayStation Network on their PS3 / PS4 and simultaneously try to sign in to the PlayStation Network on their website via a PC or smartphone or accessing the PS App on smartphones, then the PlayStation Network flags this off as suspicious and bans the IP.
Therefore we MUST always remember NEVER to sign in to the PlayStation Network simultaneously!
Solutions? If you have a dynamic IP address then you need not worry. Resetting your router should assign you a new IP from your ISP. If you have a static IP, you could wait a few days without accessing the PlayStation Network at all and see if if you're unblocked but there is high likelihood that you would get blocked again else you could call up your ISP and ask them to assign you a new static IP address.
I hope this information helps a lot of people.
